Shooting Tournament
2004/07/13, Shooting tournament with investors and representatives of the Ministry of Interior
Take aim! FIRE!
Exactly these words triggered an AFI (Association for Foreign Investment), and CzechInvest Marksmanship Tournament.
On 13 July in late afternoon, fifty weapon fans, both amateurs and professionals, gathered at the Vražkov Shooting Range. Foreign investors, managers of Czech companies, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Immigration Police Chief Constabulary, AFI and CzechInvest vied with each other for the full score in three disciplines.
Once all the shots were fired from shotguns, revolvers and pistols, Pavel Přibyl, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Zbyněk Široký of Festo stepped onto the victory rostrum. Michaela Sýkorova of ASB Prague and Petr Lžičař of the Marriott and Renaissance Hotels in Prague won two third places due to their equal scores.
However, even the lowest score was not any reason for despair. Lenka Kališová of T-Systems PragoNet was given a new chance to fine-tune her shots. An hour of training in marksmanship under the guidance of an instructor, donated by the host, certainly pleased her.
After the tournament, the jousting moved to a fireplace in a lounge, around which not only shooting topics but the hottest news were discussed in a friendly atmosphere.
