How to Join Us

The AFI represents a group of experienced Czech and foreign consulting firms and an association of attorneys, which since 1996 have been providing broad range professional services for foreign investors entering the Czech Republic.

Terms and conditions for a regular membership in the Association for Foreign Investment

The AFI represents a group of experienced Czech and foreign consulting firms and an association of attorneys, which since 1996 have been providing broad range professional services for foreign investors entering the Czech Republic.

The main objective of the Association is to support foreign direct investment and development of the business climate and competitivness of the Czech Republic in cooperation with CzechInvest, the national investment and business development agency. The AFI also endeavours to facilitate the entry of investors into the Czech Republic, making the process as fast and simple as possible.

Each member company emloys consultants who have extensive experience with foreign clients in the Czech market. These consultants posses reference and guarantees of the professional nature of the provided services and may identify themselves using professional references and guarantees for the provided services.

Legal entities and associations of attorneys operating in the Czech Republic are eligible to become members of the AFI upon submitting a completed membership application together with the relevant documents to the address provided below.

Together with the application for admission, the applicants for membership are obligated to present:

  1. Completed application form together with a signature under the Code of Ethics (pages 3 and 4)
  2. Completed table of activities (page 5)
  3. Brief information about your company (page 6)
  4. A current extract from the Commercial Register or other register together (copy) with a copy of the applicant's annual report if it is required by law to issue such a report
  5. Reference from two foreign clients or multinational companies operating in the Czech Republic demonstrating each main subject of activity according to the table of activities (page 5)
  6. Written reference and an extract from the Commercial Register or similar register documenting at least three years' experience in the field that the firm declares as its main subject of activity.
  7. Bank's written reference regarding the applicant's financial situation
  8. Document verifying that the applicant does not have any outstanding tax liabilities toward territorial financial bodies of the state (i.e. confirmation that the applicant is not in tax arrears) not older than three months as of the date of submitting the application
  9. Document of attainment of ISO certification, if applicable
  10. At least four letters of recommendation from current AFI members
  11. Company profile
  12. Extract from the Register of Criminal Records (not older than three months) for the natural person authorised to act on behalf of the applicant   

Each member is required to pay an annual fee for services in the amount of CZK 70,000 + VAT and each new member must pay an additional one-off membership fee in the amount of CZK 5,000 + VAT in the first year.

The submitted documents are initially reviewed by the Steering Committee, which, upon approving such document, appoints a rapporteur from the ranks of the regular AFI members, who will be empowered by the Steering Committee to present the candidate's application for membership to the Plenary Meeting, where all AFI members will vote on the final approval.
